Dukman was born a twin but was abandoned as a baby and sent to a place far away by her father, King Jinpyeong in order to protect her from being killed by an influenced royal court lady, Mishil who tries to snatch away the throne from the royal successor. Dukman was later brought back to the Silla palace, where she joined forces with her twin sister Princess Cheonmyong to oppose Mishil. However, Mi-shil devised sinister plans to have the two Silla princesses exiled from the kingdom, and in a secretive battle, Princess Cheonmyong was assassinated by Mi-shil. But Princess Dukman shrewdly enlisted the help of General Kim Yusin and eliminated her archenemy Mishil. She then became Queen Seon Duk, the first female ruler of the Silla kingdom. This drama is about a story of a beautiful queen, who has to give up her love to save the people and thus, leaving behind many brilliant achievements.

this is the best historical drama ive seen.

what i love most was the psy war between Doekman and Mishil. As much as you hated Mishil but like Doekman you cant deny how brilliant she is. i was touch when she chose to accept defeat than to ruin the whole nation. i wished though that she accepted the alliance Doekman offered.

it sadden me when Biddam betrayed Doekman. I almost cant bear to watch it. they fought their way against Mishil. Doekman, Yushin, Biddam, Alcheon and Prince Chu Chu. to see their alliance destroyed its really disheartening.

sad ending but shows the greatness of the queen. who chose the arduous path to unify the nation.

Supporting Cast

one of the most romantic korean drama i’ve seen. its not the typical love story-drama, it also shows the conflicts on politics and personal life of the characters, and how they fight for their ideals.

the drama is so funny yet leaves you a lasting impression. i feel like falling inlove with love itself all over again. lines are not too wordy romantic scenes are not too fancy, but will make you want to experience the same.

this one of the few drama that makes me watch 20 episodes straight, but of course its not possible since i have to sleep. well, it took me almost two days to finish it.
