Aaron Yan dishes advice for preparing a bed scene

Posted by diopatra on December 8, 2010

What does it take for one to prepare for a bed scene? For Aaron Yan, all it took was five simple steps.

In his recent drama Gloomy Salad Days, the story described Aaron and co-star Serena Fang falling in love with each other during their past lives.

On the day of the shoot, the singer-actor dived straight to the set of the drama after completing overseas commitments and filmed his first bed scene for the drama. While it might have looked like an easy scene, Aaron was actually stressed out.

“I didn’t know where to put my hands, or how much body contact we should have,” said the idol.

The director Zero Chou however told Aaron to “give himself to Serena Fang”.

Aaron undertook the scenes responsibly and even came up with five steps of preparation, namely “brushing teeth, putting on perfume, doing push-ups, wearing swimming trunks and taking in a bit of alcohol”.

Apart from brushing his teeth for at least 10 minutes in order to retain the freshness of his breath, he even sprayed on perfume, which was said to excite female hormones. The actor demanded Serena to grade him and his co-star gave him “face”, by replying “not bad” shyly.

As the singer-actor also wanted to look great on television, he did a couple of push-ups before the actual filming.

He explained, “I wasn’t sure which part of my body was going to be revealed, so I trained up my back and arm muscles.”

Furthermore, Aaron wanted to wear only underwear for the scene, but added an extra pair of swimming trunks after the production crew warned him about accidentally exposing more than he should.

Lastly, to relax his nerves, Aaron drank some alcohol before the shoot, only to fall asleep while the director was adjusting the camera. She shook him for a period of time before he woke up.

“I wanted to just take away my nervousness initially, but I guess I ended up being too relaxed,” said Aaron in embarrassment.

Aaron’s courage boosted after this experience, claiming that he would “take more clothes off the next time”.

Jiro Wang: Straightforward – The Key To My Life

Working with Cyndi Wang

Lately, Jiro Wang has been busying filming the idol drama <Momo Love>. After a few days’ rest, Da Dong went from a pale look due to suffering from gastro-enteritis, back to his energetic expressions, “Everyone, there’s no need to worry!” Furthermore, lately he has had to start practising judo for the drama and feels that he looks very man! The more he learns, the more interested he becomes. During his leisure time, he’ll even show the actions to his colleagues, “Doesn’t it look [like the real thing]? It’s been a long time since I’ve been so interested in these sports! I didn’t think I’d enjoy flipping people and getting flipped!” He laughed very happily!
Jiro, who started learning judo for the first time, actually started sweating not long after. He said, “I don’t feel very tired. I hope that in the first lesson, I’ll be able to master the basic movements.” For the new drama, Da Dong cut his hair short. This is the first time his hair has been cut so short since he started out in showbiz. Even though it was heartbreaking, as soon as the director requested, he listened and got it cut. His new hairstyle has been getting quite good comments from his friends and hearing everyone say, “You look so much younger, like you’re only around 20,” maked Da Dong very happy.
Speaking of what knowledge he has gained from filming lately, Da Dong said, “This is the third time I’ve worked with Director Qu [Winnie]. Each time, he teaches me lots of things like patient work makes a fine product. So I’m really looking forward to working with him again.” Furthermore on the set, there has been the non-stop sound of laughter from Da Dong and Cyndi Wang. it turns out, their cold jokes are very compatible; no-one else understands them. They can both laugh in high spirits with tacit understanding, “Even though we haven’t worked together for long, we immediately understand each other’s humour. This is really miraculous!”

I haven’t changed at all…

Although <Momo Love> started filmed not long ago, as soon as they started at the end of last month, they had to do a “triathlon” type scene. It turns out, Da Dong’s character has to display his heroic qualities, rescuing someone in the river. This scene seemed simple but actually took an entire day to film. First, Da Dong had to ride for 5-6 hours then from the river, run back before jumping into the river to save someone, it was like travelling from the cradle to the grave. Even though he ended up with a couple of cuts and grazes, Da Dong said, “It felt like we were filming a police action film, it felt very cool!” Having filmed many romance dramas, Da Dong was very enthusiastic about being able to test the limits of his physical strength, “Now when I’m working, I feel full of energy. In the past, I felt troubled my rumours and gossip but not anymore. I feel that entering showbiz makes one stronger.”
What rumours have troubled you the most? “Probably the type that say I’ve changed! Because I don’t think I’ve changed at all; I still have the same ways of thinkings and the same goals.” To the current Da Dong, what are those goals? “Actually, they’re still the same as before. I hope I can let my Mama have a happy life; that I can try different roles; and the rocker dream I will never give up on! It’s just that I find it very strange, why do people think I’ve changed?”

Misses carefree days of the past

“Over time, some aspects of one’s personality change while other aspects don’t; what about you?” He thinks about it and says, “What hasn’t changed is that I still push myself! Now, I still call my Mama everyday to let her know I’m well. Even if I’m unhappy that day, I’ll still tell her, ‘Don’t worry! Your son is very man!’ What’s changed is perhaps I think more! I didn’t have that many worries before! Sometimes I really miss playing in a band, having no more than $3000, a guitar with soundbox, having band rehearsals and performing with everyone; even when we were on the roadside and there were only 10 or so people watching, we were still really happy. At the time, we didn’t have much money but we didn’t have to think too much. As long as we were striving towards our goals, we were fine! Now, deep inside I’m still that kid that loves rock music but in showbiz, you have to force yourself to grow up quickly. I also hope that I can pass each day with no stress but I chose my career as an artist so I have to take responsibility for [my actions].”

Love: Can Mention; Can’t Let Go

Lately, is there anything you really want to do, but can’t? Da Dong says very straightforwardly, “Yes! Falling in love! (Ha) Actually, I really do want to find love, really. I want to but I don’t dare to. First, I think, will I have the time to be with her? Secondly, right now I just work everyday. I’m surrounded by the same people, will I have the chance to find this person?” As he is being interviewed, Da Dong is eating the strawberry toast we prepared for the photoshoot, “I really love eating this! Simple things are the best!” He smiles happily saying, “Falling in love ah! Previously I had my heartbroken really badly. At the time, I’d often call my friends up at 3 or 4 in the morning and talk until I’d be choking with sobs. But unless I did this, I really couldn’t sleep. Or else I’d ride my motorbike while crying and shouting. I’m a person who falls very deeply in love; the type that will actively really want to be with her always. Sometimes I feel that I’m really naïve like that, so perhaps it’s a good thing I don’t have a chance to fall in love! That’s just so ironic…” Da Dong’s straightforward nature has never changed. He’s still that boy that once wished to become a Super Sayan. Just like he said, he’ll always be thinking too much in the middle of the night, the more he thought, the more troubled he’d become. In the end, it became a habit to just think about the occurrences of that particular day. “Once, I almost got depression,” he says. Both strong and weak, Jiro Wang just pushes himself but in the end, he hasn’t changed.

Danson Tang signed under GTV ever since he entered the industry, but he’s ever only been able to be Fahrenheit’s supporter on the side. Outside rumours suggest that he feels very helpless that the boss doesn’t support their own. Plus, earlier he was sent to China to film, and now there are rumours that when he returns to Taiwan, he wants to terminate his contract.

Danson is GTV’s signed artist, but in every idol drama, they have supported Fahrenheit members to be the main leads, and Danson has always taken up a supporting role, never being able to be male lead. Lately, GTV has begun filming new dramas ‘Momo Love’ & ‘Love Buffet’ but the cast list doesn’t even have his name, and they even sent him to China to film ‘Armour Warrior’. Rumors suggest that he is very unhappy, and wants to bring forward his contract termination date. Towards this, Danson’s manager denied these rumours, and expressed that Danson and GTV’s relationship has not changed.

Fahrenheit: hotter together

Posted by diopatra on July 2, 2009

Yahoo! News

Wu Chun, Jiro Wang, Aaron Yan and Calvin Chen may have achieved amazing results and individually in their various dramas and movies but they still say singing as boy band Fahrenheit is what they enjoy most. Their latest album Love You More and More seeks to express their inner most gratitude to the fans. We catch up with them to pose some questions.

Q: The four of you are by now very familiar with Singapore. You’ve been here a few times to promote your albums and concerts, so what do you like most about Singapore?

Wu: Singapore is probably the country I visited the most since I was a child because it’s nearer (to Brunei). So I have many childhood memories about Singapore! Shopping and food. It’s a luxury to be here!

Wang: I like Singapore for its clean air and environment. Public toilets, floors and roads are very clean and well maintained.

Yan: I hope to be able to spend Christmas here. The festive atmosphere is great and the environment, clean and beautiful.

Chen: I like the clean streets, multiracial society, skyscrapers, and cosmopolitan city. Singapore is also very well connected with the world.

Q: Similarities and differences are probably a test of the band’s chemistry. How do you usually get along?

Fahrenheit: I think communication is the key, especially when we come from different walks of life. Chemistry definitely takes time to build up, but stage performances have indeed helped us become better partners and put up better performances.

Q: In this process, are there any conflicts? Four of you are all brilliant young fellows, each with eagerness and vigour, are there conflicts?

Fahrenheit: I think one benefit of being an all boys group is that big boys speak their minds. If there’s any displeasure, just voice it. It’s all for the better of our performances.

Q: You have been busy with your own dramas and movies in recent years but surprisingly you all are still tightly connected.. How do you guys keep in contact without any public awareness?

Fahrenheit: That is what the media portray us to be; as if we have disbanded. The truth is that the four of us always gather in private. We are only working individually when each of us has to promote our dramas, but when we release an album, we will be tied together for three to four months. It is not like what the media says about us, each developing our own career.

Q: Let’s talk about the album Love You More and More. This is an interesting name. Is there any special meaning?

Fahrenheit: This is our third album and also is an establishment of the foundation, hoping that our fans will love us more and more. It is also an expression of our loves and passion for this job. The same-titled hit song is a bridge between the fans and us.

Q: You have also visited the Down Syndrome Association at Bishan to visit the patients this time round. Everyone has different understanding of charity purposes; some thinks it is a big thing, others may think it begins with you. What is your understanding about charity?

Chen: We don’t have to shout out when we do charity, but I think as public figures, we are also public role models. When we start doing it, our supporters will follow our footsteps, and I think that’s great. There is no need to join any community organizations, charity organizations, and so on. It can begin around you.

Q: I believe you also mean caring for your family. How do you communicate with your family when you are so busy? Especially Wu Chun, you are so far apart from them.

Wu: I can only give them a call whenever I’m free. When I go home every year, it’s usually for less than a month, so time is always very precious. I will ask my company to inform me of any short breaks so that I can make a trip home.

Wang: I grew up with my mother, so whenever I travel, I’ll get very uptight and I have to call her several times a day.

Yan: I’m usually very relaxed and happy when I’m with my family because time spent with them has decreased so I try not to show my stressed up emotions at home.

Chen: My elder sister got married last October and I’m the only boy left at home now. My parents seem to think that their boy has grown up and can be depended on. So I am now responsible for my parents and am their anchorage.

Q: Fahrenheit have let their warmth and also the strength of love show in their music. We hope this sincerity will lead to smoother careers. Thank you.

Fahrenheit: Thank you!

Taiwan version ‘Full House’; Wu Zun to pair up with Zhou Xun

2 countries’ film cross exchange takes place once again; Taiwan version ‘Full House’ will have Wu Zun pair up with mainland China’s first-line actress Zhou Xun, who hasn’t filmed a series in 6 years. Just by the male & female lead’s pay, they have to knock a massive $700,000NT per episode, and the production fees are estimated to be $3million NT per episode. However, this pair is definitely going to attract overseas earnings and it also complies with the government pushing for the idea of cross-exchanging with another country. Hence, ‘Full House’ has been entered on the list of Information Bureau’s High-Definition Television programme, and will be granted $9million.

Yesterday, GTV Deputy Director Lai stressed that this drama is not re-filming Korea’s version of ‘Full House’, but is an adaptation of the Korean manga ‘Full House’. The storyline is not the same as Song Hye-Kyo & Rain’s version. Deputy Director Lai smiled saying: “The original manga did not have a Chinese name, ‘Lang Man Man Wu (Full House) is actually GTV’s original creation.”

The new version of ‘Full House’ follows the highly debated issue of cross-exchanging that Chinese people are currently very concerned about. This drama will be directed by Niu Cheng Zhe, and will film scenes in both Taiwan & China. The story tells of the 2 countries being separated for 60 years; Beijing girl Zhou Xun suddenly receives a notice from Taiwan informing her about her inheritance of her grandfather’s legacy. She then travels all the way to Taiwan, and discovers that her grandfather’s house has been rented out to big celebrity star Wu Zun for filming. Hence, she becomes very cold towards him, but gradually, love blossoms beneath their constant bickering and arguments.

This key ancestral house will be chosen in Taipei’s military family village. This village has become the most interesting topic among producers, and GTV revealed that Taipei government has promised their full support, as this village will be developed into a tourist attraction. After ‘Full House’ broadcasts in China, it is expected to become a hot new selling point for young Chinese visitors who come to Taiwan.
