Lately “Da Dong” Jiro Wang has been crazy about motorbikes. Da Dong who already obtained his motorbike license last August, couldn’t fulfill his dreams of riding into the wind [on his bike] because he donated his $NT300,000 “motorbike deposit” to the 88 flood appeal. However, he still intended to fulfill this old dream as he was witnessed at a motorbike dealership. There, he was witnessed browsing around the motorbike dealer, making endless careful inspections of the motorbikes, even reaching out to get a feel of them; after a “full body” inspection even took test drives, looking for a motorbike was like picking a wife, revealing his meticulous Virgo personality completely.

Not careless when inspecting motorbikes

On Wednesday (Jan 27) afternoon, a reporter saw Da Dong riding by himself on a friend’s motorbike – a Ducati GT1000 worth $NT700,000 – to a motorbike dealership on Taipei’s Civil Boulevard. As soon as he got off the bike, he made browsed around the whole dealership, then looked at models with the manager. When he was looking at bikes outside the dealership, he even reached out to get a feel of the motorbikes which caught his eyes, then careful looked at them from front to back, like doing a full-body inspection.

Da Dong and the dealership boss talked non-stop for almost an hour and in the end, he liked the 750CC Aprilia worth $NT639,000 after modifications. He couldn’t help but take it for a drive to test its performance. However, in regards to the tall height of this model, even 180cm tall Da Dong could only just touch the ground with his feet.

Must have streamlined appearance and acceleration to stir the blood

According to reports, the TNT worth $560,000 that Da Dong currently has his eyes on, is almost twice as expensive as the $300,000 second hand car that he drives right now. Even though he hasn’t decided on a model, Da Dong wants a motorbike that is streamlined, and the greater the engine displacement, the bigger the internal combustion engine, which would allow his blood to boil [T/N: release energy?]. He hopes that he can look as handsome as Takashi Sorimachi in Japanese drama “Great Teacher Onizuka”. His biggest dream is to be a very cool father in the future and be able to ride his motorbike and deliver a bento [to his kid] at school.

Actor Joe Cheng and actress Ariel Lin of the popular Taiwanese TV series “They Kissed Again”, an original Japanese comic, have arrived in Tokyo to face their fans in a “Kiss Consultation”. Getting on stage in a white robe, Joe’s intimate interaction with the 1,500 fans ‘healed’ them from the ‘Kiss Syndrome’.

“It Started with a Kiss” is the last comic that Tada Kaoru produced due to an accident that caused her death in 1999. The story is about a high school girl, Kotoko (Xiang Qin), who fell in love with an all-rounded genius, Naoki (Zhishu) but was rejected by him. By chance, Kotoko (Xiang Qin) moved in to live with Naoki’s (Zhishu) family and that’s how the story began. “They Kissed Again” is the sequel that ended the 5 year love-sick relationship and finally, Naoki (Zhishu) and Kotoko (Xiang Qin) were married. Together with their friends, they grow and learn. It’s this type of love story. In Japan, it’s being broadcasted on local TV and the DVDs are also being sold.

Danson, who plays ‘Gan Gan’ in the series, also attended the 2 functions. A total of 3,000 fans were present. During the function, Joe Cheng who plays Naoki (Zhishu) smiled and said in Japanese, “They Kissed Again is very interesting, you must watch it.” Since arriving in Japan, he hasn’t had time to go shopping in Shibuya and looking disappointedly, he said “What a pity” in Japanese. Ariel Lin who plays Kotoko (Xiang Qin) then said “The malls in Japan are having sales but no time to visit…” and Joe said again “What a pity”. Apart from that, Danson also mentioned that “Initially, I planned to go for a delicious food adventure and as expected, no time”. As soon as this was said, all 3 of them said “What a pity!”. The reporters who were there all laughed.

Jiro Wang: Straightforward – The Key To My Life

Working with Cyndi Wang

Lately, Jiro Wang has been busying filming the idol drama <Momo Love>. After a few days’ rest, Da Dong went from a pale look due to suffering from gastro-enteritis, back to his energetic expressions, “Everyone, there’s no need to worry!” Furthermore, lately he has had to start practising judo for the drama and feels that he looks very man! The more he learns, the more interested he becomes. During his leisure time, he’ll even show the actions to his colleagues, “Doesn’t it look [like the real thing]? It’s been a long time since I’ve been so interested in these sports! I didn’t think I’d enjoy flipping people and getting flipped!” He laughed very happily!
Jiro, who started learning judo for the first time, actually started sweating not long after. He said, “I don’t feel very tired. I hope that in the first lesson, I’ll be able to master the basic movements.” For the new drama, Da Dong cut his hair short. This is the first time his hair has been cut so short since he started out in showbiz. Even though it was heartbreaking, as soon as the director requested, he listened and got it cut. His new hairstyle has been getting quite good comments from his friends and hearing everyone say, “You look so much younger, like you’re only around 20,” maked Da Dong very happy.
Speaking of what knowledge he has gained from filming lately, Da Dong said, “This is the third time I’ve worked with Director Qu [Winnie]. Each time, he teaches me lots of things like patient work makes a fine product. So I’m really looking forward to working with him again.” Furthermore on the set, there has been the non-stop sound of laughter from Da Dong and Cyndi Wang. it turns out, their cold jokes are very compatible; no-one else understands them. They can both laugh in high spirits with tacit understanding, “Even though we haven’t worked together for long, we immediately understand each other’s humour. This is really miraculous!”

I haven’t changed at all…

Although <Momo Love> started filmed not long ago, as soon as they started at the end of last month, they had to do a “triathlon” type scene. It turns out, Da Dong’s character has to display his heroic qualities, rescuing someone in the river. This scene seemed simple but actually took an entire day to film. First, Da Dong had to ride for 5-6 hours then from the river, run back before jumping into the river to save someone, it was like travelling from the cradle to the grave. Even though he ended up with a couple of cuts and grazes, Da Dong said, “It felt like we were filming a police action film, it felt very cool!” Having filmed many romance dramas, Da Dong was very enthusiastic about being able to test the limits of his physical strength, “Now when I’m working, I feel full of energy. In the past, I felt troubled my rumours and gossip but not anymore. I feel that entering showbiz makes one stronger.”
What rumours have troubled you the most? “Probably the type that say I’ve changed! Because I don’t think I’ve changed at all; I still have the same ways of thinkings and the same goals.” To the current Da Dong, what are those goals? “Actually, they’re still the same as before. I hope I can let my Mama have a happy life; that I can try different roles; and the rocker dream I will never give up on! It’s just that I find it very strange, why do people think I’ve changed?”

Misses carefree days of the past

“Over time, some aspects of one’s personality change while other aspects don’t; what about you?” He thinks about it and says, “What hasn’t changed is that I still push myself! Now, I still call my Mama everyday to let her know I’m well. Even if I’m unhappy that day, I’ll still tell her, ‘Don’t worry! Your son is very man!’ What’s changed is perhaps I think more! I didn’t have that many worries before! Sometimes I really miss playing in a band, having no more than $3000, a guitar with soundbox, having band rehearsals and performing with everyone; even when we were on the roadside and there were only 10 or so people watching, we were still really happy. At the time, we didn’t have much money but we didn’t have to think too much. As long as we were striving towards our goals, we were fine! Now, deep inside I’m still that kid that loves rock music but in showbiz, you have to force yourself to grow up quickly. I also hope that I can pass each day with no stress but I chose my career as an artist so I have to take responsibility for [my actions].”

Love: Can Mention; Can’t Let Go

Lately, is there anything you really want to do, but can’t? Da Dong says very straightforwardly, “Yes! Falling in love! (Ha) Actually, I really do want to find love, really. I want to but I don’t dare to. First, I think, will I have the time to be with her? Secondly, right now I just work everyday. I’m surrounded by the same people, will I have the chance to find this person?” As he is being interviewed, Da Dong is eating the strawberry toast we prepared for the photoshoot, “I really love eating this! Simple things are the best!” He smiles happily saying, “Falling in love ah! Previously I had my heartbroken really badly. At the time, I’d often call my friends up at 3 or 4 in the morning and talk until I’d be choking with sobs. But unless I did this, I really couldn’t sleep. Or else I’d ride my motorbike while crying and shouting. I’m a person who falls very deeply in love; the type that will actively really want to be with her always. Sometimes I feel that I’m really naïve like that, so perhaps it’s a good thing I don’t have a chance to fall in love! That’s just so ironic…” Da Dong’s straightforward nature has never changed. He’s still that boy that once wished to become a Super Sayan. Just like he said, he’ll always be thinking too much in the middle of the night, the more he thought, the more troubled he’d become. In the end, it became a habit to just think about the occurrences of that particular day. “Once, I almost got depression,” he says. Both strong and weak, Jiro Wang just pushes himself but in the end, he hasn’t changed.

Fahrenheit: hotter together

Posted by diopatra on July 2, 2009

Yahoo! News

Wu Chun, Jiro Wang, Aaron Yan and Calvin Chen may have achieved amazing results and individually in their various dramas and movies but they still say singing as boy band Fahrenheit is what they enjoy most. Their latest album Love You More and More seeks to express their inner most gratitude to the fans. We catch up with them to pose some questions.

Q: The four of you are by now very familiar with Singapore. You’ve been here a few times to promote your albums and concerts, so what do you like most about Singapore?

Wu: Singapore is probably the country I visited the most since I was a child because it’s nearer (to Brunei). So I have many childhood memories about Singapore! Shopping and food. It’s a luxury to be here!

Wang: I like Singapore for its clean air and environment. Public toilets, floors and roads are very clean and well maintained.

Yan: I hope to be able to spend Christmas here. The festive atmosphere is great and the environment, clean and beautiful.

Chen: I like the clean streets, multiracial society, skyscrapers, and cosmopolitan city. Singapore is also very well connected with the world.

Q: Similarities and differences are probably a test of the band’s chemistry. How do you usually get along?

Fahrenheit: I think communication is the key, especially when we come from different walks of life. Chemistry definitely takes time to build up, but stage performances have indeed helped us become better partners and put up better performances.

Q: In this process, are there any conflicts? Four of you are all brilliant young fellows, each with eagerness and vigour, are there conflicts?

Fahrenheit: I think one benefit of being an all boys group is that big boys speak their minds. If there’s any displeasure, just voice it. It’s all for the better of our performances.

Q: You have been busy with your own dramas and movies in recent years but surprisingly you all are still tightly connected.. How do you guys keep in contact without any public awareness?

Fahrenheit: That is what the media portray us to be; as if we have disbanded. The truth is that the four of us always gather in private. We are only working individually when each of us has to promote our dramas, but when we release an album, we will be tied together for three to four months. It is not like what the media says about us, each developing our own career.

Q: Let’s talk about the album Love You More and More. This is an interesting name. Is there any special meaning?

Fahrenheit: This is our third album and also is an establishment of the foundation, hoping that our fans will love us more and more. It is also an expression of our loves and passion for this job. The same-titled hit song is a bridge between the fans and us.

Q: You have also visited the Down Syndrome Association at Bishan to visit the patients this time round. Everyone has different understanding of charity purposes; some thinks it is a big thing, others may think it begins with you. What is your understanding about charity?

Chen: We don’t have to shout out when we do charity, but I think as public figures, we are also public role models. When we start doing it, our supporters will follow our footsteps, and I think that’s great. There is no need to join any community organizations, charity organizations, and so on. It can begin around you.

Q: I believe you also mean caring for your family. How do you communicate with your family when you are so busy? Especially Wu Chun, you are so far apart from them.

Wu: I can only give them a call whenever I’m free. When I go home every year, it’s usually for less than a month, so time is always very precious. I will ask my company to inform me of any short breaks so that I can make a trip home.

Wang: I grew up with my mother, so whenever I travel, I’ll get very uptight and I have to call her several times a day.

Yan: I’m usually very relaxed and happy when I’m with my family because time spent with them has decreased so I try not to show my stressed up emotions at home.

Chen: My elder sister got married last October and I’m the only boy left at home now. My parents seem to think that their boy has grown up and can be depended on. So I am now responsible for my parents and am their anchorage.

Q: Fahrenheit have let their warmth and also the strength of love show in their music. We hope this sincerity will lead to smoother careers. Thank you.

Fahrenheit: Thank you!

Taking the risk of the epidemic in Hong Kong to shoot an advertisement, Fahrenheit wear a face mask to prevent catching it

The amount of confirmed cases of H1N1 virus is rapidly increasing in Hong Kong, gradually outbreaks are spreading to surrounding areas. Fahrenheit yesterday (18th June) secretly travelled from Taiwan to Hong Kong to shoot an advertisement, for the whole journey the face mask did not leave them, making them fully equipped to battle with the virus! Yesterday in the early morning Fahrenheit members Jiro Wang, Wu Chun, Arron Yan and Calvin Chen travelled by Cathy pacific airline CX407 landing in Hong Kong’s international airport at 9:45, getting to the airport lobby at 10:20, where almost 200 infatuated fans who heard the news waited for their idols to appear.

Fahrenheit’s company also had prepared in advance, because knowing their infatuated fans they especially organised 18 security guards to pick them up at the airport. Receiving loads of presents to take care of their health so that it won’t effect their work, Fahrenheit’s 4 members came out to the airport lobby wearing face masks, taking good measures to prevent catching the virus. Even thought the confirmed outbreaks of the H1N1 virus is rapidly increasing, but Fahrenheit was still extremely friendly towards their fans, continuously waving to everyone and continuously receiving big and small presents from fans, the 4 members both hands full of presents looked like they had all just finished shopping.

Among them Wu Chun had the most amount, there were so many presents that he had no way to hold any more of the fans gifts, while the fans couldn’t take their eyes off the idols, many people accidentally bumped into the stone pillar, Arron seeing this held his hand to pull the fan up reminding them to be careful. The fans chased after the cars where the 4 members split into 2 cars to leave the airport, the crowd of fans had already rented about 10 or more to follow the idols. However, seen along the way the vans following the 2 cars, dangerous situations constantly occurred, not only swerving to the right and left and also from time to time crossing the double white lines, it was extremely dangerous. At approximately 10.15, Fahrenheit’s car arrived at Chai Wan quickly entering a car park of a big building, the fans could only painstakingly wait outside the building.

The reporters running into the car park, discovered the staff and the security guards that accompanied Fahrenheit to the car park, where they were unloading their suitcases out of the trunk

Apparently, Fahrenheit’s main mission is to shoot a clothing advertisement, only staying for 2 days, last night they shot until the early morning. The 4 have paid attention to Hong Kong’s H1N1 virus situation, while staying in Hong Kong, most of the time will be spent in work, it is reckoned that they will not go out, but Fahrenheit has encouraged their fans to be careful of their health and to take all preventative measures.
